Thank you for visiting my web portfolio. My name is Greg Sharp and I am a graphic artist from Dexter, Michigan.

As long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by graphic design. I can remember sketching logos and word marks from my favorite sports teams in a notebook when I was ten years old. This early childhood obsession fueled my fascination of corporate logos and branding.

In seventh grade, I did a research project for my English class documenting the graphical history of my beloved Chicago White Sox, a team with a rich history that used design to reflect the styles and trends of the day. From the turn of the century through the colorful 50s and 60s to the flashy 70s and gaudy 80s, I was mesmerized by how this team was able to keep their identity while reflecting the taste their fans... their customers.

Though I didn't know the term or even why it appealed to me at the time, what I was drawn to was the corporate branding of my favorite sports team, and that fascination has informed my perspective on design.

As a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a double major in Telecommunications and Film and Social Sciences, I devoured data about how visual media can take something as simple as a tiny symbol, or the written word and connect it with its audience.

I consider myself a student of the human psychological condition. That combined with my technical training at Washtenaw Community College in the field of graphic design, enables me to analytically determine who the intended audience is, what is visually appealing to a broad range of consumers, and how to deliver the message with intent and purpose.
